Phytosanitary regulations
Packaging material made of raw wood is a source of introduction and/or spread of quarantine pests. To cope with this danger many countries have adopted national agreements. As a consequence there exist many specific phytosanitary measures for each of these countries. It became necessary to harmonize and regulate the measures on an international level.
The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) agreed on the ISPM15 measures.
The aim of this standard is to reduce the introduction and/or spread of quarantine pests.
In order to prevent their dissemination, the supplier either refers to:
- heat treatment (HT) at 56° for 30 minutes
- fumigation with methyl bromide (MB): a minimum of 10° for 16 hours according the concentrations
Wood packaging material used by AllPack Services have all received a heat treatment. Their packaging material may be shipped all around the world as long as it labels the ISPM15 logo certifying treatment.
